OK, it was easy enough to sign up for the blog- the hard part is to actually to write the blog. I had 1001 ideas in my head before I began but now it's all gone - Because nothing ever seems to happen in my life, I have nothing to write about so maybe I should just write about nothing ! Fair enough!
The day started like any other day, except that it was raining- real rain. Praise the Lord! Looks like Sonny Perdue's prayers to the Rain Gods worked and he must be gloating. To all you atheists and agnostics who were creating hell outside - you know what, we need the rain - by hook or by crook, so just shut up, ok. He prayed and it did rain, you may call it co-incidence or whatever but his point is proved. And who cares about the separation of Church and State and all that crap. When your lakes are 17 feet below, you better start praying....after all, there is nothing else you can do, can you? You can't bring back all the trees that have been chopped off in the past two years around Atlanta which I certainly believe has a big part to play in our current drought. So keep chopping trees, add more CO2 in the air, increase the urban sprawl and pray to the God since only God can now save this doomed earth.
It is Thanksgiving today. Turkeys are certainly not thankful for the carnage they have to suffer today. Myself I am thankful for a lot of things but particularly for things for not getting any worse than they already are. This year, being financially restrained, I have decided not to take part in the Great American Tradition - Thanksgiving Sale! I am not going to wake up at 5 am, rush to the stores and bring back car load of stuff I don't need. I still haven't opened 80% of the junk I bought last year. And out of the 12 potted Poinsettias I got last year (hey, they were only 1.25 each), only 2 still live. It is going to be a big struggle not to go but I can do it.
I did want that $99 Camera at CompUSA though - when can you get a 7 mega pixel camera for $99? It's a real steal. Doesn’t matter if I already have a 7.2 mp camera, it wouldn't hurt to take a peek at CompUSA. Maybe I can find a good deal on an ipod. Oh, this is going to be real battle between the mind and the spirit. Let's see who wins.
So anyway, today Jutika and I decided to have a vegetarian thanksgiving lunch at Udupi - their buffet was awsome. Golguppas, bhelpuri, salads, idli, bara, dosa, sambhar, dal, chhole, pulao, sabzi, veggie korma, pongal...and sevian and gajar halwa for dessert. After a week of living on leftover scraps and frozen craps, and a very poor breakfast this morning, I decided to go for it. And go for it I did despites warnings from Jutika that we will feel awful afterwards if we hog too much! But a starving man with food galore likes to live in the present. Afterwards we spent all the extra calories by shopping at the Indian store where Jutika found the prettiest sky-blue Sari and I encountered two FOBs who could not speak a word of english (God only knows how are they going to survive in the US so maybe they need to start praying as well!) and later walking around the Lenox Mall. We had coffee at the Ritz-Carlton, talked our heads off and admired the cool crowd. Thanks to my 6th sense we came out just in time for the fireworks display. As always, it was spectacular. There, talking about nothing wasn't too hard. Will try again soon!
